Domed Woodgrain Damascus Ring with Knot Pattern Steel chopper Petty utility knifeThe Domed Woodgrain Damascus Ring looks like it grew rather than got made. Tight concentric rings sit across the surface like tree knots. Long grain lines flow around and past them. Anyone who has planed a rough board knows this pattern. The difference is that this grain is steel. Those knots are not decoration added at the end. They mark where the forged layers pile and fold on themselves. Grinding the band down cuts through that buildup at an angle.
