Indeed, there is something of the 18th century Enlightenment counter movement, Romanticism, to her work. She seeks to reunite the viewer with the power of nature, to remind you of its deep, penetrating poeticism. Elina is a portrait of a flower. It is up close and sensual, its petals pushing forth like a velvet fist opening.
