I coat the white enameled surface with graphite and draw with an eraser to remove the graphite and reveal the birds in flight. The drawing is fired into the enamel with a final kiln firing to make it permanent. The pin back is a hand fabricated cage of oxidized sterling silver to hold the pin away from the body.
