Ashanti Fertility Doll Glasses Suitable for all agesAlso known as an Akuaba doll, these wooden ritual dolls originate from the Ashanti people of Ghana, West Africa. Traditionally, Akuaba dolls are carried on ones back and are used by young women seeking to conceive a child or to ensure the health of their future children. The large disc shaped head symbolizes the feminine womb and is associated with the Moon Goddess and fertility. The high forehead represents beauty and the neck rings symbolize health.
