I had a few pieces of plastic in very well-defined shapes that seemed like letters from a foreign alphabet

In the waning days of December 2021 I visited several beaches along the Lake Michigan shoreline

but scattered along the shoreline were hundreds of pieces of smoothed-over flat stones

men trying to catch fish

but instead of using colored pencils to make my hand look like a cartoonish turkey I filled in the outline with pieces of wire that I found on the lakefront near an old demolished steel mill

In this case I used some concentric round cutouts I'd created from an old poster board, starting with the smallest one and then overlaying the larger ones as I moved forward. I didn't imagine it would turn out this way, but I see a full moon and a crescent moon in the design. Archival
