French Louis XVI Toleware Parcel Gilt Monteith antique engravings Former property of Deborah VivienDETAILS This beautiful, early monteith was crafted with an extremely deft hand. The double scalloped edge is finely executed and the gilt garland around the body, exquisitely rendered. The piece displays centuries of use, but retains much of the original red background and gilt details. Notice the gilt border inside the bowl a most unusual detail. With a bit of rustic charm, it still makes an elegant accessory. STYLE Louis XVI PLACE OF ORIGIN France
