ベトナム戦時に採用、支給された熱帯地用野戦服の通称「ジャングルファティーグ」は、トラウザーもジャケット同様に、ファーストモデルの露出したボタンはセカンドモデル以降隠しボタンとなった。現地ベトナムではジャングルでの戦いが大半で、露出したボタンが枝や装備品に引っ掛かってしまうことから、セカンドモデルではフラップの外に露出しない隠しボタン仕様に改良された。更にカーゴポケットの中身を固定するストラップも廃止され、さらにウエスト調節タブもボタン式から金具式に変更され、素材もリップストップ生地となった。ファーストモデルは採用期間が僅かであったため、現存する数が圧倒的に少なく稀少性の高い存在である。
