The early reels did not come with the nickel silver line guard. The reel remains in excellent+ condition showing minor edge wear. Mechanically the reel is perfect. The reel features a quick change spool and is compatible with all later made CFO III's. Right or left hand retrieve. Don't miss out on this very scarce version of the CFO a
