They make no claim on merit as 'high art' from someone centrally engaged in questions of literary craft except in so far as they try to follow Ezra Pound's nostrum that a poem should be an appropriate mix of thought music and image. The poems arise from personal experience situations feelings scenes but self indulgence is given some generalising distance by
