The rusted earth was completed using acid oxidized iron paint to make it rust over a black background that shows through at the edges

'  Gold colored raised metal is used on the horizon line

This is one of my favorite of the eight Florida map paintings

in fact if you look closely you can see where I used a Q-tip to remove some of the paint so they would be more visible

Bird's Nest in a Corner  - A love of birds and a lifetime of collecting nests was the inspiration for this charming little piece of nature

It was the one of the first two Arizona map paintings. I painted it using thinned down acrylic paints to allow the map to show through. I incorporated a lot of metallic paints in this piece to try and capture some of the the brilliant sunsets I've seen in this beautiful state. Honestly it's one of those paintings I wish I'd kept.
