The majority of the serial number script on the rod was not saved in the restoration

Orvis Battenkill Bamboo Fly Rod 7'6" 3/2 #6 8'1" this is a great fishingAn Orvis Battenkill bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 3 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #6 line. Impregnated model. The rod weighs 4. 1 ounces on my scale. Serial #12564 which dates it to 1952, though the rod was later refinished in 1997 as noted on the inside of the tube cap. Medium fast action, and the rod is nice and straight. Excellent refinished condition, it does not appear to have been used much (if at all) post refinish. Darker cane done in a three up node
