Whispers of Spring was inspired by my visit to Washington, D. C., during last months cherry blossom peak. Most of the trees were blanketed in delicate white petalssoft and luminous, subtly shifting in tone with the sky and weather. I was captivated by how the blossoms seemed to reflect the light around them, changing from cool silvers to warm lavenders as the day passed. Using a painting knife, I built up
