Since this bottling was a moderate success

but online sources suggest it comes from the Hampden Distillery

The whisky was aged for three years in American white oak casks before being aged for one year in a Kijoshu cask from sake brewer Hanahato

it is less malty and has a slightly more refined whisky aroma

This comes from the peated barley that was used to dilute it, which imparts this flavor during distillation. In addition to this flavor, this gin also has lovely sweet and slightly malty notes.
