Its easy to be on the back foot, where having them is really bad, and while there is Negate and Bone to Ash the lack of something like Essence Scatter means that sometimes your opponent can just play around your situational countermagic until they can find opportunities to pay for them and they stop working

I'd expect poison counters to feature somewhere (perhaps Skrelv's Hive), oh and Felidar Sovereign, probably the easiest alt wincon in the Commander format

Exile-matters doesnt have much support, but this indestructible card draw machine gives it an excellent starting point

This was a reason to splash green into your control deck, or splash white if you were pulling a Mike Pistulnik
