I would typically med this myself but as the mend will be exposed

Measured with corset back loosened a bit

In my opinion these fit more like a 6 due to their hip and rise

I hesitate to speculate on the fabric as I am less familiar with fabrics 60s and earlier

my shoulders did not have a lot of mobility
